I like having all the pertinent battle info together, but with the modules I've read thus far, it seems like some plot stuff can be hard to find sometimes. In reading through some of the ones I've gotten so far, there have been several times when I've suddenly said, Whoa, wait a sec....how did they get here from there?

Which modules/adventures are having these problems? I'm looking at a couple of the newer adventures, but want to make sure of what I could be getting myself into.

The smaller ones that I have seem OK,(barrow of the Forgotten King, Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde) of course they're a lot more straight-forward, though I still found it somewhat annoying to get flavor text for a room description etc. on one page and have to flip through to the encounter. Queen of the Demonweb pits was much more confusing. Several times while reading through it, I had to back-track and scrutinize passages after a "whoah, how the (*&^%&^% did they get there" moment.
I thumbed through Expedition to Undermountain and it seemed to have the potential to be very confusing, though I haven't bought it yet for a thorough read. I think Shattered Gates was the best use of it thus far, with the separate books making it far easier to read through.

I really dislike the new format where the encounters are all in the back not where the actual encounter takes place... grrr. It's confussing and I really dislike it.

It's definitely not as bad in Shattered Gates, where there are a couple of books, but is worse if there's only one book and magnified many-fold in the hardback super-modules.

I don't enjoy the page layout, or the maps. I do like the "if they do this, this happens" somewhat, but it appears to take some of the fun out of DMing. Then you're just there to put things on a table and say "hmmm" a lot...

True, and some of them *were* helpful. I just think they went a bit overboard.
