Tomb of Abysthor

A module from Necromancer Games. I haven't Dmed it yet, but have some comments after skimming through. The level recommendation is 2-8, but there are a few spots that are ridiculously lethal.

I assumed that 2-8 represented advancement during the course of the 96 page module, but a group of level 2 characters will never make it to the 2nd level of the dungeon. Everything seems to be progressing fine up until the stairs to level 2. There is a dual trap. A Symbol of Persuasion, DC 25 or become CE and then it summons a Hezrou!!! A fricken Hezrou!!
That has good potential for a TPK for a higher level party, but at level 2-3 it's not even worth rolling the dice.

Most of the module could be played through starting at 2nd and advancing, but there are a few more encounters that are just instant TPK every time.

I plan on DMing it eventually, but will have to change some of the tpk encounters to something more appropriate. Other than the few encounters, it seems to be a well done, appropriately scaled module with some interesting plot possibilities that often aren't present in a dungeon crawl.
